The last fortress of the Vale has walls, water and forty days of grain, and the army outside has all the time in the world.
The fortress of Ardmor guards the only pass into the Vale, and the Ironhold host has come to take it with ten thousand spears and siege towers built from the forests they burned on the way. Inside the walls are four hundred soldiers, two thousand refugees, a healer with not enough of anything, a siege engineer who can build miracles from rubble, a squire who should not be on the walls, and a castellan who has sworn to hold until a relief army arrives that may not be coming. Every few days the enemy envoy rides up under a white banner with new terms, and each time they are harder to refuse.
5 roles. You take one; your friends take the rest, and the narrator plays any left over. Anyone can bring a character of their own into a role instead.
